Default 03 Si parking brake weak

My sister's has an 03 Si. The parking brake won't hold the car on anything more than a gentle slope. We have been to the dealership where they looked at it and "adjusted it". The problem is still there, just the handle doesn't come up as far as it used to.

Any Ideas??

Yeah I noticed a decrease in the holding power of the RSX-S as well. We have to pull it up all the way for it to hold well. I wonder if this is going to turn out into an issue amongst EP3 and DC-5 owners???

This is a very well documented issue with British EP3. The dealer did not adjust it properly.

It can be fixed.

The car has just under 30k miles on it, I've seen cars go for years and tons of miles without having to adjust it. [And they did use their hand brakes ]

Hmmm, I don't know why you go on about this. The maintance section explains in the owners manual that you must have the "park" brake adjusted every 20,000 miles or once a year under normal conditions, more often under severe. It sounds like your sister is 10,000 miles out almost. Quit crying and go adjust it.

You are something else man. Seriously. Get a life now it is only you who are dragging out the thread. Obviously its left open for future questions, and for people to search archives. Also so that if any new information is made available to someone and they would like to contribute they may, and in the process possibly only better inform us. Its common knowledge around here that unless you're in the basement useless posts are just that...useless and are frowned upon. So thanks for contributing

Oh and BTW, feel free to abstain from replying a third time, chances are it'll only once again be of no use.

I WAS contributing NEW information since nobody before me suggested what's in the owner's manual. Don't be such a post Nazi.

Nice to see nothing changes at Honda.

Have air leaks around the door or window seals? Road noise?

Ventilation too strong on low? Air blow thru the door and window switches when a window is cracked?

I had to laugh.

I hope you're referring to older generation Hondas. Cause by far, by todays standards "economy" Hondas have a much better fit and finish.
