Default Longer oil filter for 2000 Civic?

I was wondering if there is a longer oil filter that I can run in my wife's 2000 Civic? I am currently running the K&N HP1004, although I have also run the Pure ONE PL14459, the Mobil 1 M1-104 and Ultraguard UPF1127s in the past.

humm... longer oil filter? i think they are the same length as those for previous civics. as for filter... i'd recommend using OEM filters from honda. there was a topic on here last year about filters and there were research done on it and honda was the best one.... correct me if i am wrong, but i remember reading it from somewhere.

Ah you can get HAMP filters (Honda After Market Product I think) off ebay. Spoon uses them on their race cars. They got small, reg, and large. I believe Spoon uses the small ones. Under extreme temperature, they retain oil pressure.

Ah there was a pretty big post on honda-tech about them. I guess they cleaned some stuff out. Cant find it.
However, the small HAMP filters are only good if you run your car hard.

The OEM Honda filters here in Canada (I'm in Mississauga Ontario) are Fram, so I won't be using those! I'm probably going to go with the Purolators, since they are a lot cheaper than the K&Ns I'm using now, and I've recently learned that the K&N oil filter isn't that efficient, it's geared more for high flow, and really only stops about 50% of the particles at 20microns and lower. The Purolators (even the standard ones) are rated at 99% efficiency for 10-20 micron particles. The PureONEs are even better than this.

An Amsoil dealer told me today that the SDF-36 filter is about a 1/3rd longer and will fit. So now I just need to find what Purolator filter that cross references to and I'm good to go!
