I get a lot of rain here in Jersey. I was curious if I cut my cold air and brought the filter up into the engine to prevent hydrolock if I would notice a considerable amount in horsepower loss? Has anyone done this?

not a lot but some power loss. You coudl always connect them back together when the rain ends. You are aware that as long as you don't submerge the filter in water that you won't ingest enough water to damage anything, right?

I live In NYC and have the AEM CAI and have no problems with rain, snow or any weather conditions. Just be sure to use your head.

Btw I have mine for just about 2 years and never even thought of taking it off.

hahaaha...I think I got you all beat, I live in south florida...

I drove around for about a year before comptech came out with their cold box with an Injen cold air, without incident...It's just a matter of not doing something insanely stupid...

If you are going to cut it in half, as Trey suggested, just go out and buy a coupling and some hose clamps, and when its not miserable, leave it a cold air...

Later,
Aj
