Test pipe or Carsound cat?
Here's my dilemma:
I ordered a Carsound cat that from Hybrid Garage via an eBay auction that said that it would fit onto the JDM header. I was trying to install all my exhaust parts this past weekend but it turns out that the Carsound cat's flange is not wide enough for the flange on the JDM header :x
A friend of mine said that there's a company out there online that will sell me a test pipe that has an opening for the oxygen sensor bung and that it won't throw any lights, either. He's trying to get in contact with another friend that used to have an ITR with that test pipe. Any ideas on what I'm talking about? How about experiences using test pipes in general?
The other option I have is to cut the tip off on the header side of the Carsound attach a new flange and then reweld the tip. I have misgivings with the Carsound now, though, because the flange just surrounds the tip loosely instead of being welded to the cat itself. I'm worried about the flange on either the header or cat side shearing. Also lacks a screw hole for the cat oxygen sensor =\
Can anybody help?

First I would suggest talking to Adrian or Dawn at Hybrid Garage. THey are more than awesome people and will make it right. I have to say my cat from them had the same problem but I found bolts that could deal with the angle and made a good tight seal.
I would even venture to say if you give Adrian and Dawn feedback on flange sizing they would make changes to better their product. please tell them Trey suggested you call them.

Thank you Trey, I suppose I should just do that. My thing is that I ordered the Carsound cat from them about 2 months ago before my funds dried up for the header and catback. I had to wait on my income tax return to finish my exhaust
ops:
Hopefully, they'll still work with me on this

I am so confident they will I still say you should say Trey said to send you. I spoke to them at length when my Exedy cluthc broke. THey contacted me via email and were offering to replace it if the place i bought it from didn't. THEY DIDN'T EVEN SELL IT T ME.
I would recommend Hybrid Garage to anyone.

I guarantee that if you get a test pipe, your o2 sensor will throw a code.
I'm running cat-less myself, so I know from personal experience, but I have had other Hondas as well with the same result. Personally I don't care about the engine light. But in some states it can be a problem, not here in Michigan.

Check engine light will come on, it would come on for a little then go off by itself. I was running the exhaust you have Kabob with a Spoon header and test pipe.
OBDII sucks...thats why I'm running OBDI

Thanks all! My other option is going with an OBDII-compliant test pipe from godspeed.com ($125 and two ITR owners I know that had them said they didn't throw a light).
I sent Dawn an e-mail so I'll let you know how it turns out 8)

Kabob his name is Dan. Thats who I got mine from with my Spec B's when I had them Camgears and springs. I got it with the header and he only charged me $50 for it. It's "OBDII compliant" because it has the plug for the o2 sensor. Thats all. Talk to him on coming down, he will. Mater fact he sent me the wrong one at 1st he sent me a OBDI test pipe then sent me the right one and didn't charge me for it nor did he ask for the OBDI back.....
