Default Good Cars to get started in rallying?

What are good cars to get started with rallying? This won't be anytime soon maybe later on in the future after I settled down and what not but anyways. What are some good cars to get started with in rallying? Just as beginners? Are Eagle Talons any good? I've seen Lancers, EVO's, and Peugots, what else is out there that is under 10k that can be a good rally car?

oh yeah can't forget about the subaru wrx's.

mazda 323 gtx. Good luck finding one tho. There was a guy selling a white one by my apartment that was mint for 10,000 firm. I wanted it sooooo bad.

looks like he had it setup for autocrossing, everything on it was quality, Advan tires to boot.

for anything under 10K your best bet would be a Dsm, or a WRX with mad amounts of miles on it. :ugh:

DSM's have all kinds of parts available for them and are cheap. I see them in the ClubRally's fairly often.

Pick up a Datsun 510 or something similiar in rwd and start slow.

Theres a lot of modification that has to be done to even qualify at an amateur or exhibition level so starting with something relatively cheap will hurt a lot less in the end and you will learn a lot in the process and competing and seeing others setups and what they are driving.

Walk before you run

I agree with you on starting slow, hell I was thinking of going all out with my new truck and possibly doing baja with it, but there is no way in hell am I going to do that. I know that thing wouldn't see the light of day after I got through with it. Datsun 510's are pretty cool but they're really expensive around here way too overpriced. I was really looking into the dsm's. there cheap and there's a ton of mods to be done to them.

I know right now I'm pondering on getting this black crx si this Sunday or not and using it for autocross.. Hell the car is only 300.00 and it runs. It has a Si motor and everything. The interior is already gutted and it's still clean title. I just don't want to make the drive down to Elk Grove to pick it up because that's like a two hour drive. If I get the crx I'll most likely use that. But I like rallying too. Damn to many options. h:
