my girlfriend owns a 2003 MB C230. now if you know anything about cars, you know that it's not even that expensive, and that it's the entry-level MB. yet people seem to make their own judgements just because of that emblem, so she often gets comments.

just today our landlord stopped by the apartment to drop something off, and he asked her if we were going to get a washer/dryer. she told him that we weren't planning on it yet since they're a bit expensive. then he pointed out her car and said something like, "that wasn't free? who hooked you up with that?" wtf is that supposed to mean?

yeah, we're fuking loaded because she owns an entry-level MB that costs as much as a nissan altima or some shit.

 

my friend has one of those and my other car ignorant friends thinks hes a balla

 

occasionally i get stupid comments, such as

* did your parents buy that for you?
* daddy let you borrow his car? <-- this came from the service advisor at the dealer i should have called the 1-800 # and reported his ass
* wow, you marketing people are overpaid

 

The C230 is a Mercedes but is still built like a $23k car. That pos will fall apart on your ass.

 

years ago i went to traffic school for speeding in the astro van
the instructor asked me if i was racing in my honda

a while back i forgot who iwas talking to about my wrecked white car
he asked if i was racing

 

I have an 03 Accord Coupe and occasionnally I get in situations like that also. I was just thinking it's just because of it's new design and it looking luxiourious. Most people in my area by used Lexus', BMW's, etc and call them selves ballers but everyone knows that they bought it at some ghetto corner dealership "as is" with 180k on the odometer.

 

People see the badge and assume it's expensive.

 

well..we as enthusiasts know something like the C230 hatch is basically an entry level MBZ, like the old 318ti. most people are oblivious though. i mean, i could buy an old ass LS400 for $8k and people will think i'm "ballin."

 

First of all, why did they want to know if you were going to get a washer/dryer. I hate nosey landlords.
Should have told them that with the Meth lab in the basement, there is no room.
