Default A question of brakes

Over summer I am gonna need some new tires, so I think at that point its a good time to do some brake work.

I've been leaning towards Brembos, I could either get OEM replacement or Cross Drilled/Slotted ones. Now my physics may be a bit off but cross drilled/slotted = less heat = better stopping power or is cross drilled/slotted = less surface area = less stopping power. Kinda don't want to go backwards in braking performance so which is correct?

Get Brembo blanks. Xdrilled has less surface area which equals less stopping power. Xdrilled rotors don't really do anything except look cool if even that.

Blanks = OEM ones (yes I know I am a dumbass but everyone knew that)

I can get those for $45 or so a pair.

you are right and you are wrong

depending on what you are assuming.

the best thing to do is use your stock rotors or brembo blanks and get brake cooling ducts directed at the back of the rotors (probably requires removing or cutting the dust shield)

but that's for someone seriously tracking their car (autox wont make that big of a difference). For street use better brake pads will get you the best brake performance for the buck. this also goes for autox as well.

Thats a pretty good deal. Just get some Hawk HP pads and you're set for a track day.

slotted/drilled rotors will run cooler than stock. Slotted rotors will also clean the pads. h:

Hmmm interesting...

Talking about pads... I am guessing AEM makes the best in the business or am I just paying for a name stamp? Hawk HP... never heard of them... but then again I haven't heard of a lot of things. h:
