Default bad mileage

Just bought a 95 gsr, with 50k, and i am getting horrible gas mileage. I get about 200 miles per tank. Do any of you know what i should check out? Any causes? anybody had this happen to them?

Same exact thing happened to me, recently got my teggie and I had the gas tank replaced because the asshole's bottomed out on the car without telling me. It messed up the sensors too, so im supposing its ur gas tank?

It could be any number of things. First thing I would do is get a bottle of Red Line SI-1 fuel injector cleaner and run it through your tank.

Another possible cause is that your stock catalytic converter is gunked up and making your engine work harder which could cause the decrease in mileage.

Do you notice anything else about how the car drives that might lead you to believe something is up?

I've been noticing that too. I barely crack into the 300 mile range when my gas light comes. 90% of my miles are highway and with the claimed 32mpg * approx 13 miles, I should get getting around 416 miles..

Fuel injector cleaner.. i think i'll try that.

On average, how far can you go on a tank of gas?

Is your car lightly modified? I just have a hard time understanding why I'm not able to go farther on a tank of gas. I usually shift under 4500rpms so the VTEC doesn't even kick in...
