94 or 95 I believe, 93 for sure, also well above $2 US a gallon.

I saw a sticker on a Japanese pump once that makes me think their octane rating system is slightly different than ours.

i can get 100 octane "Competition" gas at a 76 station around here. I would think that they have at least that over there.

Octane up around or above 100 is normally leaded race gas. I'm just saying I believe 94 or 95 is the highest you can get anywhere, you may find higher at select places.

japan does have a different octane rating system than we do i can't remember what the conversion is but i think that 98-octane in Japan is around our 94-octane

my bro says that there is two ways of measuring octane, motor octane number and research octane number. American gas stations use the a.k.i., the anti knock index, which is just an average of the m.o.n. and the r.o.n.. Japan only uses one of those two, so their octane rating system is slightly different.

That's correct, I can check with some friends of mine that just got back from japan to verify, but I was trying to give the US equivalent grade, but as I said, I can verify if everyone's in dire need to know.
