Default Fuel Filter, funky steering vibe, stuck turn signal - help !

Time for a new one, was wondering if there's a difference between the Napa Gold, Beck Arnley (on Napa's site), Fram, ACDelco, Bosch, or an OEM from Japan. I've got a '93 Si (SOHC) stock everything & probably will be stock until i get outta school in 3 years. Those are the only 3 brands I can find too... anyone know what other options i have? If so point me to the site :a: Thanks in advance!

PS-the left side turn signal is stuck on.... do i need to goto a dealer to get that fixed or is it DIY-able?
PPS-i get a funny rubber-on-rubber vibration when turning the steering wheel, commonly occurring on cars of this age, any suggestions on how to alleviate this problem?

Honda filters only. Ever. Only exceptions would be for your airbox IMO.

I can help regarding the turn signal. If it's a problem where you put on a left signal and it won't turn off, it's probably the relay - BUT, it should do this for the right signal too.

However, if it's left-only, then it's the contacts wearing out on the switch that selects left and right, on the stalk to the left of the steering wheel. Not hard to replace if you don't mind taking apart the steering wheel assembly.... I've been able to do it on two Volvos (CRAP electrics), Honda should be exactly the same. You will probably need the part from the dealer, unless you have a nice junkyard nearby where they don't let a car get rained on/in.

As for the rubber-on-rubber noise/feel/thing... maybe when the column is apart for the switch fix (if it is the the switch and not the relay), you'll find whatever parts aren't aligning properly anymore and fix two birds with one stone. Errrrr..... yeah.

do a search in the civic forum on the fuel filter. My opinion is that if you ahve one in there, it's good to go. I've never had a problem with injectors clogging...

The turn signal, sounds like the switch is broken. If you disarm your airbags, take off the steering wheel, there are 3 screws that hold the turn signal and headlight arms on. Unplug the electrical connections, and throw a new one in. Should be all your problem is. 15 bucks at the junkyard is all it should cost you.

The turn signal sympotms update: if i turn the signal on left, the light pulsates a lil bit & i can hear the clicking goin rrrrrreal fast. Still stuck on tho. This happened after i turned my Hazards on one time getting the mail. Ever since then its stuck on.

The thing about the fuel filter - im changing it b/c i think it'll solve my strange starting problem. (feels like the engine is jumpin around or somethin, not sure how to describe it, and sometimes its hard to start. got new plugs, same thing) I removed the resonator from the airbox *that thing is massive!* could that have somethin to do with it?

Yet again, I'm jealous of your amazingly cheap junkyards where you live. There is NOTHING like that down here. $15??? That's probably what they would charge for the screws to take the thing off!

lool, just gotta know where to go. If a junkyard is asking more than that for that part, go to another one. Just turn around and walk out. If enough people start doing that, the prices come down. Hell, it's a bunch of Swedes here, how do you think it got so cheap? lol
