Default Best Non Vtec Head..

Hi. I finally made up my mind on what I want to do with my D15b7...I am just going to turbo it...So I want to know what is the best head for the engine. I dont want vtec because it is harder to tune a turboed engine with vtec plus I dont want to switch ecu's.Plus I think with a turbo the vtec wouldnt matter much...But the car needs a new head anyway so wich one should I use..Please any answers are as always apprishiated..And I did a search but didnt find the right answers...

if youre going to do a turbo'd "mini-me" setup, IMO the best head you could put on would most likely be a d16z6 or y8. Yes its a vtec head and it might take a little more time to wire up and get a new ECU, but itll be worth it in the end. Even if you dont turbo it for a while after the head swap, it'll still be better and faster than your d15 block with any other head.

i dont know but i have one now for the first time, i went for a b18b to a d15,......wow what a change. anyhow the only useful work to put into a d15 is to take it out. if you are set on what you wanna do then rework the head you have now and turbo.

I hope you realize there are at least four different versions of "ZC" head.

The only D15 worth building is the D15A3, and that's a whole different ball game.

Do not build a D15B7. It is a complete waste of time and money no matter how you look at it.

I always figured, with a d16y7 w/ a skunk2 IM, a larger TB, and a turbo would net similar figures to a y8 turbo, sans the vtec, of course.

hard to say, tho....

search, since I know I've covered this a few times. In those threads, there's links to some turbo d-series forums. They're your new friend
