hi, i have a 98 civic ex coupe, i am just wondering how much space should be between the tip of the exhast to the bumper?

cause i want to put a rear lip on it, how much space does it require?

I have about maybe a finger gap or less. I have a urethane bumper and is painted, i dont have any problems with heat or anything, if that is what you are worried about.

 

When I had my Tanabe first installed (at the time I still had my stock rear bumper) it was about a half inch away from touching it. But if the exhaust would shake, it would hit it. Installing a rear lip was out of the question for fear that it would melt it because I know that it was gonna touch. Luckily the rear bumper that I have now (buddy club rear bumper) was a little more forgiving and it gave a little extra room between the tip and the bumper itself.
