Default clash of the d16's

i was reading a thread the otheer day and someone asked what the best d series engine was. someone mentioned the d16y8 and the d16z6 were the best. someone else said that the d16z6 was way better. can anyone explain to me the differences? i know they have the same displacement, both sohc vtec. d16y8-127chp max poer @6600rpm. d16z6-125chp @6600 rpm. i dont know the torque curves or how the compare when modified. anyways, just curios. also, how do i know what kind of model civic i have(eg, etc) i have a 97 civic ex

one head fows better, the other's intake manifold flows better, etc. Just little shit that gives the y8 2 more hp... OOOOOOHHHHH 2HP!!! pfffft
For the sake of making life easy, it's the same ****ing engine, stock for stock...

its pretty much the same engine. OBD1 cars supposedly react a little better to tuning, but that may just be a myth.

I have a Y8, but I'd rather have the Z6 (with the same mileage )

Ehhhh I dunno. Tune your 92-95 motor up all you like, I'll stick with my y8 anyday, I fear high-milage engines
