ok, i have a 97 lx d16 (auto), i can adjust the idle set screw, which works fine, after the car is warm when in it is gear like at a stop light, the car seems to be shakey, not that bad but just bugs me, no matter how high i turn up the idle set, when in gear it adjusts to lower (shakier) speed, any ideas? I have cleaned the IAC and it seems to be operating fine, is there anything else that controls the idle speed at park or in gear, are they different? Thanks. (replaced the cap, plugs and cleaned the tb 8k ago.)

 

I'd check the tranny fluid for sure. That's about all I can think of....

lol, another thing I just thought of could be a gunked up iac... damn stepper motors in em like to get all gunked and stick...

 

Hmm, I have a 2000 Civic with the exact same problem. I was going to try cleaning the throttle and associated components today...

sorry didnt see that reply, idle is normal starts high and once warm shoots to 600ish in park/ neutral and then goes down to anywhere from 300-400 in gear.

 

That's normal, that's what mine is at too.

after drivin gyour car i can say the car run pretty smoothly ( you should drive mine lol )
however your power after 3rpm is almost non existant which you should investigate
