Need help on tires i got.. Please help..
my friends have 2000 civics like i do.. They have 205 50 17 on there car with not being lowered. all stock.. I got my tires on due to needing some for the winter so i bought a/s tires.. of the size above.. I got them on and my wheel well makes sounds of the scuffing of the tire... My friends have the same tires sizes yet there care doesn't make these sounds.. Does anyone have these problems.. And if so should i raise the car a inch.. i mean there michellin a/s pilots.. Please hope someone out there can help me..
isnt that tire kinda big for a dropped civic? listen to pinoyboy, the 40's are right for your car. most likely your tire is just rubbing due to the thickness (50).
damn those 17" michelins must cost a lot. mine were $180/each

From what I could decipher from your post, there are other things that we should know... Is your car lowered? Do you have the same wheels as your friends? Is your alignment up to specs? What made you decide to get a 50 series tire?
that tire is huge. 50 series tires are way too fat for 17s on a civic. 50 series should be used on a 15" rim. You need 205/40/17 or 205/35/17 if youve got strong rims or aren't too keen on ride quality.
