Canister style exhausts tend to be louder than the standard shaped muffler (due to their straight-thru design), but generally, most aftermarket full cat-back exhaust has a nice tone. Most of the time a "fart can" sound is coming from a universal exhaust with poor piping under the car.

Just get an exhaust that was specifically made for your car with mandrel bent piping and you should be gravy.

the exhaust i got for my car is a magnaflow catback....its got 2.25" mandrel bent piping and a straight through muffler with about a 4 inch tip....it doesnt sound like a bunch of pissed off bees like many other exhausts.....the sound is a deep rumble at low RPM and sounds realy nice at high RPM.....plus i only spent 320.00 on it........i got it at hottexhaust.com

The Greddy EVO is the most quiet exhaust on the market. 93dB at idle and 92dB at 3k RPM. I've had one for 2 years now and it still sounds great! Check out my website for some vids of it.

Barely. Just sounds like a low-tone exhaust. You can hear it when I floor the pedal!
