Default vibration from exhaust manifold?

sup all. hopin you can help me with a little problem i have. just swapped a b18a block with b18b head into my civic. everythings runnin really smooth now, except for this vibration ONLY at 3k rpms. i cant freakin figure it out! im almost positive that its comin from the exhaust manifold. its not the heat shield though, its all bolted down, plus you can see that it doesnt move at 3k. any other parts that could be vibrating or anyone had this problem before? also, i don't think it really matters, but im using a GSR exhaust manifold.

good call.

There's a little bracket on the OEM header that connects it to the block. It's right where the header is split into 2 pieces and the 'downpipe' (for lack of a better term) swoops under the motor. It might be that this bracket is loose either on the header or on the block.

hope it helps a bit...

You know, I was having the same problem - I don't have a B18, but my D16 was rattling at exactly 3000 rpm. Sounded like it was the exhaust manifold. I tried checking teh heat shield too but no luck. Turns out a rock had bumped the resonator and something was loose inside it. Maybe check that?

hmmm, interesting thought. my system goes from header, splits into two, down to the flange which connects to the cat, and then back to the muffler. ill check around, see whats up. thanks for the advice! everything is stock from the civic except the header.
