Default 96-98 tailight stuff

i heard from someone that the yellow section of my tailight is just a film that can be removed, making the tailight red/clear. i was wondering if this was true, and what i need to do to do it. i forgot who it was, but someone in this forum smoked the bottom of their tailights making it black on the bottom and red on top. i was wondering how they did this, and if it would piss them off if i used their idea. thanx

i dont think its a film, and I dont think its easy to do. Otherwise many more people would have done it, im sure.

No, its not a film....its the color that the plastic was made when it was molded. If you want red/clear tail lights, you need to buy new ones. And btw, a bunch of people have smoked out the bottom portion of their tails, so I doubt anyone would mind if you did it.

tons of people have smoked the bottom half. I think it looks good. and whoever said that it is just a film in the taillights is wrong

and a word of advice. if you want to tint your taillights and they're amber, you're gonna have to put a pretty thick coat of tint on it to hide the amber, ie. you're gonna end up with black taillights, not "smoked"

Yup, amber is permanent. Just get some new ones. Like said above, if you tint amber, it'll be black by the time you are done.
