Default whats a good vtec head?

If i have an ls engine whats a good head to put on it? Would a b16 head work fine and be really nice? Or should i just search and find a b18 c1 or c5 whichever comes up and cheap...

It depends on your other modifications and what kind of powerband you want. A B18C1 will rev high, with a C5 revving even higher. You need to think about what kind of rpm your bottem end can stand, and decide from there.

They all can rev high. The head itself is not really a limitation when it comes to RPM, it's more what cams you decide to run. But pretty much all of the VTEC heads are going to give you the same results with the obvious difference of the Type-R head having Type-R cams already installed.

So yes, a B16 head will work out just fine. It will also be easier to tune because you don't have to fiddle with the B18C1's two stage intake manifold.
