Default buying an integra

I was at the junkyard today lookin for a new mirror for my camry cuz i busted it off...thats 200 bucks down the drain...but ne ways I saw a 95 integra with 89,000 miles, white for 3000. It is in the junkyard because the guy who owned it before hit some water and sideswiped a wall so there is some damage on the passenger side. also, the front fender and bumper are busted up. They said they would fix all the dents and put on a new fender and bumper, and paint the thing for 1000. It was a B16 upgraded to an 18, at least thats what the guy at the junkyard said. I thought it could be totaled but the carfax report came back clean, is this a good deal? btw, its lowered

the stock motor on an integra is a b18...it could be "totalled" but not reported, like the frame could be bent but they never reported the accident to the insurance. I'd check that out. also consider that then you'll be paying 4k for a 95 teg that has been wrecked and fixed by a junkyard, you might be able to find something close to that price range that hasn't been wrecked.

definitely not right about the b16-b18 upgrade... but if i was you i would bring a "friend" aka body guy that is willing to come with you and have a look at it. then have somebody outside the salvage yard fix it for you.
