Default ITR Rear Trunk Bar thing

Since the ITR didn't have the rear-strut bars, it came with the bar that bolts on to the rear panel inside the hatch by the tail-lights, wat is that bar called? Does it have any function?

Also, kinda on the same subject, Does anyone have a rear-strut bar that you can install without cuting the left plastic cover on teh integra? The reason I am asking about the trunk-bar thingy for the Type-R is because I dont want to cut anything out of my integra..

It is a chassis brace which is designed to reduce chassis flex during cornering.

If you don't want to cut it you could take the pop out panel off.

My friends integra, he had to cut the bottom part too because it hangs lower. Did you just cut the pop-out panel or did you have to do anything to the bottom peice? The GAB Strut bar below rides pretty high so If i get that i wont have to cut any peice of the bottom out.

If i get a chassis brace like the one on the ITR, would it just be bolt on?

Here's what i did when i was on ebay looking for a cheap strut bar i found this one. It had very narrow ends, so in theory i wouldnt have to cut out as much. But when i really looked a it there was no problem i didnt have to cut any of the bottom out.
Looking at your pic i dont think you should have a problem. I can send you closer pics later once i take them.

I'm pretty sure your going to have to drill holes.. I will double check for you but either way I doubt you'll have a easy time finding one. This strut is not going to make a dramatic difference... I would suggest investing your money in something more useful. It's not that hard to make your own.
