Default new clutch question

I recently installed a new clutch in my 93 teg. Just oem type, nothing too fancy. It hasn't been drove maybe 10 miles since, because i'm working on other things too. I've noticed that there is no smooth transition in the pedal. Like, when you start easing out on the pedal, it doesn't gradually start moving. It's more like an on/off switch. Is this normal for breaking in?? It doesn't slip or anything. But it's just not that smooth. Thanks.
