Default new radio for my moms accord...questions

I want to ge my mom a new radio for her car for xmas...the stock one she has right now hasnt worked since my brother crashed the car this summer. She has a 1997 Accord DX sedan

Here is the deal:
She listens mostly to cassettes, and rarely to cds, but would still be nice to have. I cant afford 300 or whatever for a combo cd player/cassette player. Is there enough space to put in a cd player, and then find a honda or aftermarket tape player only (kinda like the tape player I have in my 98 Civic thats down below by the cupholder) and mount it under the cd player in the dash???? does someone have a pic of a 97 or similar year accord dash ?

So does anyone think that is possible? enough room etc? or any other ideas???

I think the best thing to do in this situation would be to buy a nice aftermarket tape deck, and get a cd changer with it. I installed a Kenwood combo about a year ago in a guys van, and with everything it was under $200. This was from crutchfield. Hit them up and see what they have to offer.

what doesnt work?
no power at all or no sound?

if no power then you have to check both fuses one inside the car and one under the hood.

if no power when fuses are good then go with a tape deck and changer combo.
