Default Windows Media Player 9

I'm running Windows XP SP1 and I am trying to run avi video files and they will not play. Used to now it doesn't.

Anyone with any ideas? Windows Media Player 9 does look for the codec but it receives an error when it tries.

They might be divx avi's. Download the codec from divx.com. When you install it you'll most likely get some error message saying it's a non-supported driver or something, just ignore it.
