Yea, I read that when it first came out. Pretty interesting stuff.

I wish I could contact them directly and start buying!

No really. You can't tell. Unless they ship your diamond back to the ultra high tech labs overseas's... it just looks like a perfect diamond and they simply cannot tell.

Exactly. The easiest way they found to prove it's a cultured diamaond is that it's TOO perfect.

there are some other light refraction tests that they can do... but they are only about 60% accurate. Put a perfect real diamond next to a cultures diamond and it's almost impossible to tell them appart. Usually the only way to tell them appart is to use very high magnification with UV/IR light and a spectometer and find the one with the imperfections. Keep magnifying till you see something imperfect. Once you see something that's imperfect, you've found the real diamond.

Yeah processor market is what it was developed for and they have contracts with several manufacturers to use their product.

The guy they took them to had been in the business of diamonds for some time and De Beers is trying to get the process shut down because of the potential threat to the diamond market if they were to be used for personal gain...basicaly this process has the potential to cripple the diamond market in a major way...but that ia not what it was intended to be used as either.
