Default royal purple oil or mtf transmission fluid?

which would you guys recommend? royal purple oil or transmission fluid? i went to auto parts store and they said i could use regular motor oil. is that true?

You can use motor oil but i would only use it for temporary use. Honda mtf is the best.

Just get the honda MTF. It isn't that expensive.

I've been drag racing with motor oil since I put my SPEC 6-puck clutch in months ago and haven't experienced any differences or problems. It it makes you get a "warm-fuzzy", use the Honda brand.

Actually I think the Honda MTF has special additives that help the transmission(moisturize seals and such..)

Motor oil can be used in the transmission temporarily if needed, but you really need Honda MTF or an equivalent transmission fluid.
