Default Can Alpine CDA 9815 power Infinity Speakers?

Hey Everyone,

I have an alpine cda 9815. I am planning to purchase the Infinity Kappa 60.5 component speakers. Will my deck be able to power the speakers? The speaker have a suggested rms of 90 watts. I am also planning to switch out my 6x9's with kappas in the future. Will my deck be able to power those as well?

Thanks for all your help fellas!

the 9815 has a pretty powerful amp in it... it definatly can drive the speakers, but with a 4 channel amp that has a signifigant power increase, you'll be able to play at louder volumes and you'll get more clarity.

So what is a good amount of watts that I should look for in a 4channel amp? I'm interested in a pheonix gold 4 channel...but it only puts out 75 watts x 4. Also I don't want to spend more than 250 on the 4 channel amp.

thanks again guys!

That should be an excellent amp for those speakers.

I run 70 to my components and it seems to be plenty of power. A few things make sure that power rating is rms not max as some of the octane r series or whatever rate max power so it may only be like 45 watts or so. 250 maybe a strectch for a good 4 channel new.

Ok, these are the two type of amps that I wanna get. They are both on Ebay.

PHOENIX GOLD Octane-R 5.0:4 4-Ch Amp

50w x 4 rms (4ohm)
75w x 4 rms (2ohm)

PHOENIX GOLD Octane-R 8.0:4 4-Ch Amp

75w x 4 rms (4 ohm)
125w x 4 rms (2 ohm)

the octane-r 5 is a little cheaper than the r-8. So which do you think I will need for my infinity kappa components and 6 x9s?

depends on the price jump.... if its not that big of a difference and you can spend the extra money, go for it... you'll be able to play the speakers a little louder without distortion.
