Video games impact on technology
Ok me and my roomate were in a game discussion and it suddenly occured to me how much the gaming market has really pushed computers to where they are at.
Video card improvements, processor improvements, FSB upgrades and more.
It seems to have pushed the advent of the internet to a degree with faster bandwidths to support it as well.
I understand a lot of this is to supply companies with a better means to transfer information but it also seems as though the multi billion dollar gaming market has done more than its share of helping it along as well.

without games, the pc industry would be years behind where it is now.
Even though.... most games, seem oddly all the same thing over and over.
atari2600 was one of the major players of getting people interested in game systems and how they work.

it's exactly why i plan on upgrading my computer soon. it'd be interesting to see where computers would be if there weren't games on them. i remember the days of the video card wars between nvidia and 3dfx. those were the days.
yep, bak in the day when i was 6 and playin wolfenstein 3d on the 286 wit my dad...
good times but games do hav a huge impact, the speeds will be so fast that a 3ghz will be as fast as the 10ghz, thr wont be a diff.
