i have a sony u30

its a good "party" camera because you can stand shoulder-to-shoulder with someone and hold up the camera and take perfect shots.

I was told that you shouldn't go less then 3 megapix for a digi? Is that a good general rule?

Really depends on what you plan on doing with the camera.

If you're going to take some shots of friends and etc, any digital camera is good.

If you're going to take pics of say scenary or as a hobby, then invest in a higher quality one.

I used to have this 1MP Sony and it was fine for me, I even used a few of those pictures for my online car photo's...

Thats what I figured. The salesman I spoke with said that in the long run I would be better off with a higher megapix camera. He said that when you make a pic larger say for instance a 8X11 it would make the quality of the pic better and clearer. Thanks for your help.
