OGs: learn me the history of HAN

reading a thread on this subject on HT about the origins of HAN and the eventual split leading to OT.net and HT. this was before my time. curious to know if anyone was around for that?

I was. But I basically went with Mike and Dustin pretty much automatically so my point of view is likely to be anathema at HAN. :-)
