Default 17k miles and need rotors/pads?!?

my friend has a 350z, and he just took it into the dealership for a tuneup, and they say he already needs new pads and rotors? that his rotors are below spec for resurfacing and need to be replaced? is that possible? i mean the pads make sense, but shouldn't rotors last longer? and they're quoting him $450... what do you guys think?

does he have the track model?

a lot of owners w/the brembos are having to change their pads/rotors early.

did he track his car at all? I know one or two track days can eat through a set of pads. that is if you are fast.

he should take it to another place for an estimate to see...or he should buy a caliper and check them himself.

dealers are awful when it comes to that shit, they had me waste a lot of money one day telling me my girls car needed brakes, (not even close but i had the shit, so i did it)
