Default Dropping Idle

I have this weird problem with my 91 accord.. The idle is set at around 1000. Occasionally, the idle will drop from 1000 to about 200(almost stalling) and jump back up to 1000, and drop again. It just keeps on doing this for a while, and it goes away and comes whenever it feels like it. I hadnt noticed it much, and then it did it again today. Hopefully someone knows how to solve it.

thanks

i drive a 96 ford taurus and it does about the same thing my idle is at about 700 and it will sometimes at stop lights just drop to like 200 and bounce up to 400 and back to 200 it does that for a few seconds then goes back to normal. my friend that works on cars alot said that the idle air control(IAC) was the cause and that fords were well known for the (IAC) to malfunction. i took it off one time and cleaned it with breke cleaner and it was ok for a while but it still does it from time to time. unless it happens all the time i wouldnt worry too much, i would clean that iac and if it still does it and dont get any other helpful info and are concerned go ahead and take it to a mechanic or someone. note- the IAC should be close to the throttle body and intake manifold.

Sometime the connection to the battery is not that strong...I had a friend that had that problem with his civic..when they did the gsr swap they broke the connector to the battery, and his idle was not strong at all...Once he fixed it his idle was rock steady....

i dont think that it is the battery connection bc he says that it happens occasionally ill bet the weak idle on the civic gsr was all the time until you fixed it.

The idle on the gsr was only weak sometimes...not all the time.. sometimes it would drop enough to shut off the car.

-Clean the throttle body (IAC)
-New fuel filter
-Toss in some injector cleaner

And I promise it will go away.
