Default audio/vid, tech dweebs, camcorder people...

holla at me. im a complete newb at this. as some of you may know, ive been having problems with my neighbor banging on the wall. ive decided to collect me some evidence as per my home owners association suggested.

i borrowed a JVC CR-DVL915. its a digital still camera and uses one of those small tapes. however those tapes dont generally last for more than 90 mins. and in order for me to record the noise, im going to have to leave the thing on for the whole night.

i know i can hook this up to my VCR and have it record to one of those VHS tapes. but i have the slightest idea how. can someone run this through for me?

and also, what is the best way for me to record this noise? i was thinking about hanging a clock on the wall and have the camcorder just look at the clock for the whole night. that way when the banging happens, i get the time, and hopefully see the clock shaking.

my neighbor suggested that i somehow get a glass of water and prompt it again the wall, that way i can get a shot of the water vibrating. pretty clever, like in jurastic park.

anyhoo...bottom line. i share a wall with this asshole that bangs on it during the middle of the night purposely for whatever the fuk reason. ive been keeping a log of the time already, and want to go further in collecting evidence. just need suggestions on how.

holla thanks.

about hooking it up... there should be rca outputs on the camera, and inputs on the vcr. just set the camera to run through the outputs and then set the vcr on the input and record.

about the water shaking, you might not be able to get that on video too much. you might try setting the camera right next to the wall (actually leaning against it maybe) and then if he pounds hard enough, the camera itself would shake too. :dunno:
