Default Can I...

I have had a copy of WinXP on my current computer for a few months now. I am going to be building a new computer from scratch (my first :yay: ) as a Christmas present to my self. When I go back to ME on this computer, how do I get the license to transfer over to the one I am building? I'm not this stupid and i'm sure I could figure it out eventually. Also i'm knee deep looking at prices and figuring out what to buy so I figured i'd field this one out to you guys.

And maybe letting the cat out of the bag this way will allow me to blab my hardware plans to somebody who will enjoy my rig as all that my friends know about PCs is that they burn CDs.

Good for you. I get mine. I decided that I want my OS on the new computer to be legal and I know I can do it, just, how?

:dunno: to be 100% legal you'd have to buy a new copy

From what I understand you have XP on one computer and you want to put it on the other computer. Well, legally I don't think you can do that. My gf's parents had MS Office and they bought a new comp so they wanted to move it over but MS said they couldn't register it then. :dunno: fawkin ghey.

Anyway, to install your version of XP on the new computer you will just need teh CD key that probably came printed onto the cover of the XP manual.

School licenses own. All my MS products are free and legal. I think it has to do with educational uses.
