I've seen the 9003 HID kit. The owner didn't use any shields. It was obnoxiously blinding in traffic. He lit up all 4-5 lanes and all the tree's above him.
I suggest using some type of shield when using a PnP HID kit...or do a retrofit. |
i suggest against using HIDs unless it's a retro, without being a retrofit you really arent gaining much if you ask me, it's just like driving with your highbeams on all the time.

werd. just wondering what kind of setups they had in place right now. i figured most any plug and play would just be pointless and blind other drivers. what kind of retrofits could be done?

I wouldnt' suggest getting just HIDs put into your lights. You'll going to be blinding on coming traffic, have major glare and hot spots, the lighting will be more up into the trees than onto the street like they're suppose to be. I would suggest having a retrofit done. You'll be more happy with the end result with a retrofit over just a regular HID kit. I've done several retrofits for people who used to have just HIDs in their housings, and they've told me that once I put projectors into their lights, their visabitly was twice as good. The lighting actually focused onto the street like they were suppose to

I'm installing two Light Force 100W driving lights on a license-plate-bracket wing mount. I intend to have them dim when the brights dim but be able to cut out w/separate switch when the brights are on. I'll focus them on the ditches ahead to give me advance warning against ungulates...
