jdmeg6hatchy 03-28-2006 04:54 AM

G-M-W 03-28-2006 09:56 AM

o a type r fit would be pretty sweet with a k series engine

R_Squared 03-28-2006 10:40 AM

sweet video. the sedan version reminds me of a corolla. :)

hate to be the skeptic but im still not much of a fan.... it reminds me of the chevy aveo.... and all the hate that the ep3 received for being "squished van like" or just plain "ugly" i cant figure out what makes honda USA think the Fit will actually sell :dunno:

The EP3 sold "well" but definitly for the wrong reasons. Baby boomers wanted it for the storage space but were turned off by the high price tag and "race inspired" shifter and lack of automatic transmission. This caters to those buyers.

because the ep3 Si and the Fit don't cater to the same type of crowd.

I had thought the Fit would be faster. The USDM version has 109 hp right?

Judging from the video where the Spoon car is a fully built race car with turbo, they said it still wasn't really as fast as they would have thought, so I'm guessing the stock version isn't very fast at all.

jdmeg6hatchy 03-29-2006 09:42 PM

im not to big on the sedan, reminds me of my girlfriends echo.
the wagon/hatch is awesome though!!!

i read some mag at the store and they compared the Fit versus the caliber, yaris, aveo, nissan thingy, and several others and the Fit was faster than its competition and out-handled them all by a large margin...in fact they mentioned that the Fit went through the slalom at almost the same speed as a Z06 Vette!

If that ever happened in the state's I would sell my eg in a heart beat.

VTEC-Power 04-09-2006 09:03 AM

The door handle came off...LOL. The sedan seemed slow for a turbo. I like the Auto in it though.

The Van looking one though does look fun to drive.

i read that comparison also and i think that the fit actually beat the z06 vette by 6 mph. thats

That Spoon Fit has a bone stock engine. The other car was turbo'd. Have you guys read the article in Sport Compact Car magazine a few months back. The Spoon Fit was 3 seconds faster than a supercharged 350z at The Streets of Willows race track in Southern California. But it takes a skilled driver to drive that thing fast.

Fuse 10-27-2006 04:36 PM

thy using the 1.5 still the k20 fits in the fit rite.

RedlineBoyzCRX 10-30-2006 04:06 PM

I might be tempted to get rid of my EG if they came out with a K20 Type R fit. Turbo it and ur the fastest out there.

Chefboiali 11-06-2006 08:43 PM

That was cool. :) It was nice to see the fit in action.

b-bomb 12-10-2006 09:55 PM

I was very impressed. As I was never really attracted to the car before because of its looks, I was quite surprised to see it perform like that. I never would have guessed it had that potential from the commercial. But you have to remember, the Spoon fit is not a cheap car. If you buy a stock fit and build it to be a racer, it would need a lot of work and quite the investment. But still, fun looking car.
