Default Turbo on 96 Civic Dx (D16Y7)

I was wondering how much hp i could probrably get if i turboed my 96 civic DX D16Y7 engine no i dont want to be flamed or to hear its a waste of money i was just hoping someone could give me a rough estimate and prob around what would be a safe set for psi boost. please let me know thanks

Around 50 HP at 6-8ish PSI, which is a fairly safe range on an un-modified engine.

i dont know if this will help, but i have a friend who boosts 11 pounds with his 5th gen civic hatch si. i know it has vtec but its still 1.6 liters. he has no internal modifications. just a bolt on turbo.

For someone so unsure of a turbo to have to ask this question, 6-8 PSI is plenty to start with.

B series engines have much beefier rods, especially when it comes to VTEC B series.

5th gen Si is a D16Z6...

You could easilly run 11lbs on a stock D series, as long as it's perfectly tuned, but there's not much room for error since stock pistons and rods are pretty weaksauce.
