I want All Motor.
I have a busted B16A2, the stock motor in my '99 Si.
My question(s) is: What would I need to do to get around 14sec time slips? I know a lot about Hondas (I don't consider myself a noob), and I know that a JRSC puts a b16 in the low 14 ballpark, but I need to make a decision about what I am going to do about my busted motor (hydrolocked). Should I swap it? Should I build it? I would love to swap in a B16B because then I could transfer my headers (too short for the Integra's block) and it's just my kind of motor. But, if its possible to build my motor for a little bit cheaper, and get better performance than a B16B, then I'll sign up for that. I just don't know what the build up would entail. Please help me out (websites, info on their own cars, friend's cars, whatever). Oh yeah: ACT Clutch, Comptech Flywheel and Headers, AEM CAI and Cam Gears, Thermal R&D Exhaust |
The b16B uses an Integra block, not a b16A block. The header clearance will be the same as a b18.

Personally, I'd investigate exactly what type of damage you're dealing with from the hydrolock. If you have to replace a significant number of parts already, then it may make more sense to go all motor, as the cost of using the extremely high-end parts necessary for all motor won't be a huge pile more than what you need on stock replacement parts anyway.
Likewise, if there's not major damage, and it just needs a small bit of work, then going with a supercharged or turbo setup may make more financial sense. |

Never question qtiger. He is always right. ;)

Originally posted by qtiger Yep. Which is why the Spoon and Toda stoker kits specifically say that they are for the B16B block instead of B16 in general. |
