Default AEM intake problem?

so i installed my aem cold air intake into my 99 civic coupe ex today, but the check engine light came on afterwards.

i asked my friend about it, he said i had to take the ecu out and put it back in.

i didn't unplug my battery when i installed the intake; could this be the problem? would unplugging the battery and putting it back in solve this?

what other things could this be?

this is the only thing i've done to my engine; i just needed to clear the way to install strut bars and things until i get a new engine.

thanks for your help

what is an IAT sensor? the electrical plug that goes into the furthest from the throttle body of the three plugs on the intake?

if that's what it is, then yes, i did plug it in.

how do i reset the ECU?

You would have to ask someone who knows a little more about your car than i do, but on my integra i pull a fuse under the hood and wait about 15 seconds then put it back in. someone might know in the civic area
