idel rough

Default idel rough

i have a 86 prelude si. when i stop the car, the idel is little bit rough, shake a little bit. and my rpm is high. always stay at 1000. does anyone know the problem? please help!

Replace the spark plugs, plug wires, and distributor cap and rotor for starters. But to be honest, around 1000 is about right for older hondas. Lower is better if you can get it there, but I wouldn't hold my breath on it really.

do you know where is the clutch fluid for the 86 prelude? it should be next the brake fluid. but i can't find it. maybe the older car is different.

You have a cable clutch, no fluid.

Usually if a system doesn't use fluid, then no, you don't need to fill it up or anything.

You might adjust the cable tension if the freeplay in the clutch pedal feels off. Follow the cable from the firewall across the engine to the transmission, you'll see a plastic nut on the cable housing near the bracket, tighten it if there is too much free play, back it off if there isn't enough.
