Default ATTN: Need help...awkward idle when cold

okay....
i drive a 95 civic ex, stock engine 157k mi

whens its cold here and my car sits for a while (overnight, through the school day, etc) ill turn it on....and the engine will rev between 1k-1.5k in neutral....it seems to be only when the car is warming up cause it ends up stoppingafter not too long

anyway...what should i check into on this
i replaced my fuel filter which didnt help

injectors? im not incredibly engine savvy so i dont know where to start....

I would check for a vac leak, air in your cooling system, or a bad IACV, in that order.

yeah, check those things, but it only happens when it is cold? then the IACV plays no part when it is cold right? Also, I thought it was supposed to idle like that when the car is cold? My lude, and my friends hondas idle like that when they are cold, you did mean when the car itself is cold not just the weather right?

if it's consistently at a high rpm when cold and falls to a normal idle when warm, that's completely normal. it's part of the warm up routine.
