Hestitation in 1st/2nd starting out EGR??
Usually occurs after starting out & below 2300 rpm.
I spoke to Pat Goss, the local auto guy on radio & he said it's an gunked up EGR that needs to be carefully cleaned out (esp. since it's over the oil pan??) within the manifold. Sorry but what the heck does that mean? Can some techs explain please so I can get this fixed. Thanks! |
Your egr (Exhaust gases Recirculation) recycles some exhaust gases back into the intake to reduce emissions. ususally after a period of time the egr gets clogged up. Look for a connection between the exhaust and the intake. That should be the egr. Simple remove and clean out. But have fun that stuff is dirty and hard the remove.

But how can that be if you are removing it from the engine? Am I mistaken? |
I was told to change my engine oil after cleaning the EGR ports. I did mine yesterday. Haven't really noticed any change in low end performance--it still sucks! Still kinda stuttering and missing even. Maybe all that will change when I finally get around to changing the timing belts.
