00 GSR throwing codes

Can anybdy give me some help on where to look for these problems? Im throwing codes 17(vehicle speed sensor), 20(Electronic Load Detector)and 65(w/e that is). I'm lost, has anybody else had problems with your speedo not working?

Thanks much

well I know the speed sensor is plugged onto the tranny somewhere, I dont know if its on the same place on yours as it is mine, but if you unplug it, it will make the speedo not work and throw those other codes..... meaning.... you might try finding it and seeing if it is either unplugged or defective.......

65 is secondary heated O2 sensor. maybe you grounded something in your car and it blew some fuses. but check the first sensor before anything else.

There's a VSS/ALT fuse under the dash. I would check that first. That would accoutn for the speedo acting nutty.

ok guys I broke down and took it to a shop. The 02 sensor was rubbing on the heatshield and the VSS was a "bad circuit", and the reason for code 20 they think it might be because of the 02 sensors rubbing the heat shield and grounding the wire.

Did you check your VSS/ALT fuse? Even if you think it's something else, do it anyway. It takes like a minute, and the fuse costs like 5c or something.
