Default ITR flywheel, 3 lbs make a difference?

Stock RS flywheel = 18 lbs
ITR flywheel = 15 lbs

Will I notice a difference if I go with the ITR, I can pick up a used one for $64? I have the ACT HDSS clutch ordered. The lightweight fw's for $300-400 are out of reach for me, money is a big issue.

Thanks,

Chris

It'll help the engine rev up faster. Whether or not you'll actually feel the difference depends on how sensitive your reareand is, I suppose.h: If you're going to be taking the tranny off for the clutch install anyway, you might as well put a lighter flywheel in, even if it's only slightly lighter. Just make sure you get it resurfaced if there's any hotspots on it.

Oh I will definitely be getting it resurfaced, I'm really just interested in whether it's worth it to spend an extra $64 on the ITR for the 3 lbs lighter. So thanks for the input.

shaving punds off the engine increases horsepower, I think it was like 2 or 3 for every pound taken off. I read this in an article about unorthodox pulleys and they said that is a general rule. If the engine works the same and parts are lightened it adds power.

I don't think it actually generates more hp. Flywheel just decreases the rotational mass making it more responsive to the throttle. It's just less mass for the motor to be pushing around. As for the pullies, I think some after market companies actually change the ratios so that they spin at different speeds to free up some hp.
