Ok I have a 96 Accord EX w/ VTEC Engine. The prob that I am concerd with is why cant I redline my car, does that mean that my ECU might be fired or what I really cant reline my car. Please help.

You're going to have to be a little more specific.

Oh and this doesn't happen to be an automatic transmission does it?

In theory, if you put auto trans in third gear and slam the accelerator, you should be able to redline it, I think. I never done it though so I can't be sure. Got pretty close once though, when I 'resume' cruise speed to 85 from 40mph... Didn't really know how the cruise control work at that time :-p

put it to one and try to go 40 miles per hour and you'll redline

Whats the max rpm you can attain? And when does redline start on that engine?

AcuraFanatic Dec 7, 2002 10:19 PM

I wouldn't go beyond redline, there for a reason. If it's the same as the F23, it's 6300RPM.
