Default Motor Swap question?

Where can I find the weight of a motor for a swap? I'd like to do an engine swap but have a reduction on weight aswell as huge gain in power and torque.

Default engine swap

what are you swapping into? depending on what your putting the engine into... go for a turboed h22a type-s it puts out 220 hp @7200 rpm and 168ft/lbs@6500 rpm....it has a bigger displacement and a decent amount of stock power...weight reduction= no passenger seats no door panels...p/s, a/c....lighter body panels...dash mods...u know the obvious shit......good luck on ur project...

What are you going to be swapping it into? you're looking at a pretty heavy motor. Some C32 i think for the legend. and its only around 200hp I think.

Surely if you have a civic with 109hp or some shit like that its great to get up near 200..but really..Its gonna be a bitch of a swap cause its a V6 motor and it's gonna take a lot of work. You're gonna need to get new mounts, entirely new everything basically.

If you want more power for cheap and you have a shit motor right now. you're better off going for a B series swap. or if you have a D, do a Mini-me to get the extra power out. So, basically swap the Y8 head and manifolds onto your current D if you have one.

or if its a B, try and save up the money for an LS/VTEC. B16 heads are only about $300 and then you're half way to an LS/VTEC.

but a swap from a legend or anythin like that is sorta ridiculous. Hate to spoil your fun.

I would save up for a while and get a k20a2. Because I've been told it's lighter in weight and I've read articles where it gets better gains from simple bolt-ons like Cold air intakes.

I'd like to put a k20a2 or a k24 form a trashed TSX for my GSR. I've heard the k20a2 is lighter than my stock B18c1. I also want to do a 240sx or SC300 and swap one of there motors out for a 2jz-gte.

If that's the case...why not just do the rb25 or 26 swap into the 240? it's all easier in the long run than a supra motor. Unless you have the time, money, and patience

Either way...I appreciate your enthusiasm and creativity!
