Car is soo hot, and messed I'l never get to the dyno!!!! help please
OK, first off here is the set up: First gen b16 turbo, in a 91 crx si.
So recently my temp gauge has been going crazy, waving up and down like a roller coaster while I drive, and the car is extremely hot once I stop and check under the hood. So I was told to change the thermostat it might be sticking, or air in the lines. So I replace the thermostat and made sure I removed any air. Car still does the same, except now its worst. I will be driving along fine until I’m about to slow down and down shift. The car is so messed at idle. While down shifting I’m trying to give it gas to rev it up and it’s slowly going up but power is dieing and then when I’m at a total stop or almost, car dies!! Try to start it up its turning over and everything, (new battery, and alternator) but its almost like there is no fuel...and then after like 4-5 tries it starts and I continue to drive....at least until another turn or stop occurs...and it repeats it self........And all while the temp gauge is going crazy up and down in that wave motion.... Please help guys any info with help.......anything info didn’t inform you with, just let me know what you need to know about my set up and I will reply as fast as I can. Thanks guys. |
What engine management??

i dont think that is the issue, im just running the stock b16 ecu......i have a p72 with hondata, however its not installed yet.. i have no wastegate spring in the wastegate. sooo im not really building boost, plus i drive it like a grandma. I think its somthing other than engine manament.

overheating repeatedly is a good way to blow a head gasket

How old is the thermostat? have you changed the water pump? |
Ok think i got it.....car was dieing due to the new after market fuel pump being shorter than factory one....with even 1/4 tank it thinks its empty. Also the main relay is gone on it i think...that makes sense to why its overheating...fan not turning on..the coolent temp sensor not working....I think everything is ok now...thanks all.
