My Car shakes, get's low mileage, and loses power. PLZ HELP!!!!
Its A 1996 Civic With 1999 Civic Swap Stock
Ok ive done pretty much everything to this car and the shaking wont go away and it seems that i lose power and my car doesnt run like its is suppsed to. I've changed the spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap and rotor, fuel filter, air filter, oil filter, oil change, replaced both 02 sensors, and i still get low mileage, 23-25 mpg wtf is that!!!!. The only thing i do get is a cel code #54 CKF Sensor (Crankshaft Speed Fluctuation) can this cause all of those problems? Can anybody help me?

I'm in the same boat I think. I just had my 95 Accord EX's exhaust replaced at the dealer - thought that's why the car was shaking because it was bad. Nope, still shakes. I know I'm way overdue on plugs and wires, i'm hoping that will fix it, but after reading the previous post I think I'm in the same boat. Same low mileage but I don't lose too much power. No shaking if I give it little or a lot of gas, only if it's kind of average acceleration.
Anyway, not trying to hijack the thread, so answer the OP and I'm also interested... Thanks!

How has your maintenance been? If you need to replace stuff, do it.
Can you elaborate on the shaking? When does it happen?
It needs spark plugs and wires and a dist. cap and rotor very bad. It's been on the same ones since probably 2000 or so. I'll get the maintenance done this week, I ordered plugs/wires/distr. cap & rotor so they'll arrive this week, and I've been thinking that this tune-up would solve the problem. Is that possible, when a car needs a tune-up badly, for it to behave this way?
The shaking happens different times:
When I start accelerating, depending on how hard or easy I go. Basically, if I give it just a little gas, everything is smooth. Or, if I give it more gas than would be normal (kind of a "jackrabbit start" but not a very strong one - just a little more of a jumpy start than would be normal) then again everything is smooth. It's in that MIDDLE area - not a very easy acceleration or stronger one, but right in the middle, what would be "normal" usually.
Once I'm moving along, it's the same story, no matter what gear I'm in (auto trans) or how fast or slow I'm going, if I give it a LITTLE gas or a LOT it's smooth, but if I go right in the middle, a "normal" acceleration, it vibrates.
When I've been idling I've revved up to see if it happens (to eliminate that it would be the trans, which I didn't think it would be anyway because it shifts smoothly for the most part.) Well, when I get the tach up to about 4-5,000 RPM it starts to do this rough idle/vibration also.
It makes me feel almost like it could be a timing issue - is there a way of adjusting timing?

Get the tune up done and see what happens to the vibration. The problem could very well be tune up related. It sounds like it also could be drivetrain related but it is hard to say without knowing that everything else is functioning correctly.
prov - thanks for all the advice. As I've been researching, it does seem more and more to be tune-up related than anything else. I will get my plugs and wires by the end of the week and tune it up on Fri. or Saturday, and I'm expecting all to be well. Anyway, I'll post again by next Monday to let you know how it went. Thanks again!
My 92 GSR shacks at idle. What is causing the shacking at idle?
It's a vibration that can be felt on the steering wheel.
I have 120,000 miles. Distributor cap and rotor, ignition wires, coil, ignitor have been replaced already. I have not changed out the sparkplugs yet but I am going to install NGK Iridium sparkplugs.
