rings and bearings...
what do you guys perfer using? I am doing a simple all motor build and thinking of going with OEM rings but not sure of what bearings.. my machinist stocks clevite bearings.. any good? I have also heard some bad things about ACL.... any input of this? What rings do you perfer and why? And what bearings do you perfer and why? thanks!!!
Agree, OEM bearings only. OEM Rings with OEM pistons. If your using forged pistons then I would use whatever they supply.
If your crank is still a virgin, and your machinist is suggesting Clevite bearings then I would probably question his measurements. Just my 2 pennies.

Definitely go with OEM bearings.
I'd personally replace the pistons as well, but if you don't want to, then just get OEM rings as well.
The beauty of using OEM bearings on a Honda is that the factory bearing codes are stamped right on the block and crank. Just check your crank journals with a good micrometer to make sure it is still within spec. (it should be because it's nitrided, unless you had an oil starvation problem)

the bearing codes are on the back of the block and crank?????? i never knew that.. ima go outside and check that out.. would you happen to have more of a exact location/area i should be looking and what does the code look like? letters? numbers? sorry for all the questions

Here's a photo of my block with main tunnel codes visible:
