This is my new project and I want to make sure I have EVERYTHING I need before I start the swap. This is goin to be my 8th swap but unfortunatly I have only done swaps that "bolt directly in" they have all also been obd1 swaps. I am goin to get an obd2 swap to make it a little easier on me. Anyone have some pointers or even a page or two I can read up on before I start. I want to know everything, that could go wrong. Any suggestions is greatly appriciated. Thank you guys.

You can most likely do it in a weekend, but I would strongly advise you have a backup plan or ride to work if something goes wrong. If your familar with doing swaps, you should know all the common pains like shift linkage pins and axle nuts, but with a 6th gen you also have wiring to worry about. In 6th gens, the entire harness comes out, from engine down to the ECU. If your swapping a OBD II (preferably a '96-'98) B18C1, you should be able to remove the HX harness and swap it on the B18C1 and add the wires that are nessicary (knock sensor, IAB's, HX should have VTEC). Sure...it took me a good 8 hours to do mine (w/ air tools)...mine is a b16a2 so all I had to do was rewire a 2 wire CKF and extend a few wires. It also helped that I had a 96 Del Sol Vtec P30 ECU, it plugged into my stock EX harness so no worries. It's still not done though, waiting for shift linkage and the correct intermediate shaft. Just make sure you have everything before you start, I made a bad mistake and I have been waiting for over a month for the right parts. Then again, I have other cars to drive if I need to.:thumbup:

 

Thanks again guys...... your input is very valuble to me....... yea and with just my luck I won't have the thing done for a month. The second day I had my car I changed the tranny and it took me 13 hours. It was supposed to only take me 3. Damn that pissed me off. Latesky for now.
